Meet Grace Morrison

Grace Morrison is one of fourteen acts to appear at the 2022 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Thursday Night Music Stage.

Take a little bit of folk music, add a heaping of country, toss in some Americana, and top it off with a whole lot of honesty and authencity and you’ve got Grace Morrison. As someone who has watched from the sidelines for quite a few years, I’d also have to add that this talented musician originally from Wareham, Massachusetts, has lots of spunk, humor, and determination! The fact that Grace has accomplished so much in recent years, even during the pandemic, is jaw-dropping, especially considering that she’s a wife, mother of a three-year old, and stepmom to three teens. Her fans are steadfast and mighty advocates for her and her music and they cheer her on enthusiastically. As the New Bedford Standard says of her: “Her voice smacks of Jewel, and her style, cadence, song structure is every inch from the school of Joan Osborne, Lisa Loeb, Natalie Merchant. It’s uncanny.”

Grace’s career has progressed organically, but with a lot of hard work. She has performed at festivals and clubs all over the nation; has obtained accolades and awards from prestigious songwriting competition. She’a as comfortable playing a guitar as she is behind the keyboards. At eight months pregnant, Grace had the opportunity to co-write a song with acclaimed musician, Lori McKenna. She went into the session not knowing what they would be writing about but Lori took one look at her and told her: You know that this song has to be about your baby. And that’s how “Just Loving You” came about. Even more recently, Grace traveled down to Texas en route to some gigs in New Mexico and stopped off in Austin to record an EP. Much to her surprise, an entire album happened that week and was produced by Texas troubadour, Walt Wilkins. That recording will be making its debut in spring 2023.
