Heather Mae

Meet Heather Mae

Heather Mae is one of fourteen acts to appear at the 2022 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Thursday Night Music Stage.

It’s no joke to say that Heather Mae is a force of nature. She’s big, bold, and beautiful and sings with the ferocity of a storm brewing over restless waters. That voice and those songs evoke the human condition and her meaningful messages resonate to those who sometimes feel “less than” in a world that tells us to be something or someone else. Heather Mae raises her voice to tell us all that “We are Enough” (the title of her 2016 album is I Am Enough). Fans have embraced her vulnerability and her strength; her very vocal proclamations to be who we are and to move forward with joy and grace with a big dash of humor is her trademark.

Heather Mae hails from the Washington, DC area and has recently moved to Nashville. She engages with her fans in a very personal way by holding discussions and workshops in her Big Loud Love Club. She offers a safe place to participate and be heard in a loving fashion. Heather is a proud LGBTQ+ advocate and lends her talents to many organizations that share her beliefs. Her latest album Glimmer consists of nine songs–all having to do with mental health. Heather Mae has helped to destigmatize mental health and bring more light to conditions that are often never spoken of or acknowledged. Heather Mae appears solo and often performs with Crys Matthews.

Here’s a tender song called “You Are My Favorite.”
