Meet Andrew Dunn

Andrew Dunn is one of fourteen acts to appear at the 2022 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Thursday Night Music Stage.

If you’ve spent any time in New Jersey or had the pleasure of attending after-hours showcase at the Big Orange Tarp at Falcon Ridge, you’ve probably heard the name Andrew Dunn. It’s a common sight for those of us who are Big Orange Tarp devotees, to see Andrew taking charge and keeping things rolling as Alan Rowoth and Sally Johnson do their incredible work. Our community is so vast and yet so intimate when we gather at such places to listen, reflect, and enjoy the music. It is always a revelation when someone sits down in a sacred circle and sings a song that strikes a chord within us and that’s what happened to me when I first discovered Andrew Dunn a few years ago at Falcon Ridge.

This very apt sentence from Andrew’s bio rings true for me: “His poignant wit and infectious melodies are staples of his canon of memorable story songs drawn from everyday theater of life moments.” Andrew has worked as both a music teacher as well as earning life experience as a factory worker and carpenter. These experiences have shaped his songs and enhanced his songcraft. Andrew is a 2018 Kerrville Grassy Hill Songwriting winner as well as achieving a nod as a finalist for the Great American Songwriting Contest.

“This is My Husband’s Car” is the song by Andrew that touched my heart. Here’s a video of it. Hope it touches you as well.
