Fun Facts About Driftwood

I thought it might be fun to ask Driftwood some up-close-and-personal questions to get to know them a tiny bit better.  We all know that their on stage presence is engaging and their music is lively but what else can we learn about this band from Binghamton, NY?

Driftwood will be appearing at the me&thee coffeehouse in Marblehead, MA on Friday, December 8 at 8:00 p.m.  Tickets are available at

Here’s a little promo video to give you a tiny taste of their music!

What new music have you been enjoying lately?

We love all styles of music. We particularly love singer-songwriter type music. Right now most of us in Driftwood are loving Willie Watson‘s new album that just came out, Folk Singer Vol. 2. Willie has such a unique way of singing, yet he pulls from the traditional folk style. Driftwood also loves The Felice Brothers. We just recorded an album with the brother of Ian and James Felice, Simone Felice. We’ve been loving The Felice Brothers Life in the Dark, especially since we have worked closely and bonded with Simone. The album is emotional and lyrical and an all-around fun party vibe in some numbers.

How do you spend your time in the Driftwood-mobile?  Podcasts?  NPR?  CDs? Silence?

We just bought an RV that we travel in. Driftwood usually starts out our trips with catching up with each other and talking business. We talk about what’s going on currently and decisions to make for the future. We also catch each other up with our personal lives. Everyone seems to live vicariously through the bassist Joey Arcuri, who is the only single bachelor of the group. We also listen to the radio or plug in Spotify through an aux chord. With the space in our RV, we can stretch out and maintain space and privacy. We can also play on guitars and sing and what not. It’s a fun time. We feel fortunate to be able to travel for a living, and we enjoy each other’s company very much.

Do you have any fun tour stories that are amusing and can be shared here?

So many funny moments unfold on the road. These stories usually involve the unique people that we met at our shows. Some of these people become fans and come to our show whenever we play in their town. We develop a relationship with them. We feel so grateful for having the privilege of meeting so many new people that we wouldn’t normally meet. Some of these people like to party and have a grand old time when we see them, due to the fact that when we work there is usually a bar! So you get the point  — it’s always exciting on the road.

What’s your most enjoyable activity outside of making music?

When we’re not on the road making music, we all value the time spent with our family and loved ones. Traveling away from our loved ones makes us miss and appreciate them that much more.

Beatles or Stones?

The Beatles

What’s up next for Driftwood?

We are gearing up for our upcoming shows in our “Winter Tour.” We are also mixing and adding finishing touches to our next album that will most likely be released in May. We are especially looking forward to our show at Me & Thee Coffeehouse in Marblehead, MA this Friday, December 8th, 2017.  Life is good. We are happy. We love you!
